This course is aimed at those who are stepping up to an account management role in a PR or marcomms agency or in-house team or someone who is entering the PR profession at middle manager position from another communications discipline.

It will help you take control and responsibility for shaping and delivering PR and marketing campaigns, and provides strategies to keep you on top of your workload, manage and motivate junior staff, and plan and track campaigns.

Course objectives

Participation in the course will provide you with the knowledge to identify the key skills needed to manage PR and marcomms accounts and implement a strategy to grow account business. It will also help you identify priorities and juggle different clients, undertake good project management, understand your clients and how to influence them, and deal with difficult clients and situations.

About the trainer

Maud is a marketing communications and media relations specialist who runs her own food PR consultancy and PR training business, Maud Davis PR. In between handling PR for her food clients, she also trains and mentors others through face-to-face workshops and e-learning sessions and is a lecturer at the London College of Communication.

Her training clients range from account handling teams in PR and Marcomms agencies to communications departments in public, private and not-for-profit sectors including WWF, Lidl, Mobitel, NHS Berkshire, OFWAT and Cardiff University.

A CIPR accredited trainer, Maud serves on the CIPR Marcomms Group, is a business mentor/trainer with the Prince’s Trust and a mentor on the Government’s GCS talent programme. She is also a qualified trainer with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
